Diva challenge 367 - Nzeppel

nzeppel, crazy nzeppel, cadent, unnamed

This tile was a double dare for me.  A friend of mine suggested (and I took it as a dare) that I try using washi tape as a resist for creating a watercolor background.  I'm terrible at watercolor backgrounds - hate everything I do - but I took the dare and found that using the washi tape as a string, the painting went much better.  I loved the result so much I used it for this week's diva challenge.  Nzeppel is my number 1 mac 'n' cheese, comfort tangle, so no challenge there - lots of zen, lots of surprising beauty.

  1. Interesting effect to use the washi tape color block as your string, in essence. I'm 100% with you on loving N'zeppel. It is very versatile and maybe more importantly, very forgiving. Nice!

  6. I love doing watercolour or ink backgrounds but haven't tried the washi tape idea. That's another one added to my "to Do" list. I think the delicate colours in the background of your tile look really good.
